BRDB's Summary The Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP) was adopted in the sixties with the aim of expanding the Comilla model "bi-satmar cooperative system" developed by Bird Comilla with the aim of increasing agricultural production through the use of modern technology in agriculture. Subsequent to the success of the IRDP And considering the importance of concerted efforts in rural development, the Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) was formed as a government body in 1972 through an ordinance delegating the responsibility of rural development work. Since then BRDB has been a major government organization engaged in the rural development sector.
